Bachelor of Design (Visual Communications)
Lucy majored in illustration at Christchurch Polytechnic and spent
6 months designing packaging for tourist products before starting
Board of Design with Katie Wilson way back in 2003. In 2007 Lucy
started her second business, Felt,
an online marketplace for handmade goods.
Earliest design memory? Practicing handwriting
with my grandpa.
What are you reading? The Beak of the Finch by
Jonathan Weiner and The Uncommon Life Of Common Objects
by Akiko Busch. And I'm looking at the pictures in Kitsch Deluxe.
Your favourite childhood book? The Tiger Who Came to
Tea.
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be? A shade
of green somewhere between pale lime and leaf.
Your hero/heroine: I have many, but Douglas Adams
is probably number one.
What makes you smile? My rabbit, Punky, who is very affectionate
and delights in being silly.
What are you currently listening
to? The Woolshed Sessions, REM and hanging out for Julia
Dean's solo album!
